All Time Best Dressed CEO

Most CEO's dress like they are interns. The award for all time best dressed CEO goes to Alfred Sloan. This guy looks exactly what he was, style obsessed, and uncannily successful at this job.

Thanks, Jesse & Adah!

I reckon, Allie will see this blog because I am mentioning Gimme Coffee... But yeah, my book and my cappuccino looked so perfect, so I had to snap a picture. I enjoyed them both.

Fucking T-Shirts & Lazy "Style"

I hate lazy fashion. Which is most of America, I am afraid to say. Sandals, velour, hooded sweatshirts, American Apparel, $2,000 handbags with a track suit. Come on, that is not style. That is trying to make laziness "fashionable". I was really disappointed when I checked out that young designers thing over at the church by Jersey Street in Soho. Tons of just t-shirts with screen prints on them. What the fuck is that? Seriously. You're not a designer. If you want to make pictures, make pictures. Enough with the t-shirt printing please, you are not tricking anybody except the other lazy people TRYING to have STYLE. Fuck!

Note the difference between "fashion" and "style": Style is about fit and personal flare and is generally timeless, fashion is about trends and names.

Eat shit.

"Blueblueblue with an, "e" at the end"

"What does that even mean?"

"I don't know, but that's what it is."

Harefield Road on Sunday Nights

I have been going to Harefield Road Sunday evenings to watch this jazz band play. They are called, The Cangelosi Cards and they are pretty amazing. I don't know the guitarist's name, however if I shut my eyes he sounds a lot like Django. I like going here as it gives me that real old New York feeling; being in a bar where pretty much everything is made out of sturdy aged wood, oh yeah, except for the fact that all the jazz musicians are white.

Maybe the best pizza in New York City

Pomodoro in Soho might have the best Pizza in New York City. Just saying.

Peter Demos

I met Peter at Gimme Coffee, which I talk about often. He used to work there, but now works in the Art Industry full time. I could spend time talking about how he works for Kelley Walker, but I think that would be a total injustice. Peter's stuff is much more accessable in a good way. While being totally unique you can see where he draws inspiration from. I love how he creates paintings not so much with a brush, but with patterns and pouring of paint. It reminds me of Frank Stella's Black & White paintings that he did in the 1960's. Peter's stuff is almost like the next step. I don't know what it is called, "Post-Minimalism?" Anyway, Peter makes a killer Gibraltar, but you will never get to taste one because I think he is going to be big.

"[...]me and my friends thought Bright Eyes was god's dick."

My friends are in this band called, "Titus Andronicus" and they just got signed to XL who is re-releasing their album (which has been re-released a million times over the years) titled, The Airing of Grievances, (any album who's song titles includes Mahwah, NJ; Bruegel; AND Albert Camus is a must listen in my book). Patrick made a shout out to me and our friend Charlotte at their McCarren Park Show this summer. Yay for me. Read their tongue-in-cheek interview for Pitchfork here.
